  1. Nexus player sucks. AirPlay/ Video cast freezes up. 5 firmware updates did not fix it. Kodi video cast was freezing up too a lot. They are now on clearance rack for $25. And won't carry them no longer. I Like Apple TV better but it only supports MP4 files. Keep your box and receipt so you can return it if you don't like it.

  2. Can the Nexus Player be used completely, totally, 100% offline? I'm talking not even requiring an Internet connection for the initial setup; can that be skipped and just used as an offline-only device?

  3. Nice video. Does any app I have through the play store work with this nexus player ? I truly would like this player to work with a vpn app.

  4. It's great that it searches Google Play videos easily…however, let's be honest, most of us are using these streaming players for Netflix, Amazon Prime and HBO Go.  My question is, when you do a voice search on a movie, will it only return Google Play movies…or, are you able to let the Player know that you subscribe to these other streaming services that you can get the movie for free from them?  Google TV kind of had this feature…and I believe the Roku does, but not sure.

  5. I heard you say that it has Ethernet in the settings, can you confirm a USB to Ethernet adapter is compatible?

  6. Can you sideload apps via Dropbox and can you use the Micro USB for storage? Because on the Amazon Fire TV you could not use the USB for storage. Which was lame.

  7. Does anyone know if the WiFi is backwards compatible with N 5ghz?
Can DNS b changed for those of us outside the US?

  8. This is a very interesting device. I hope Android TV takes off and actually becomes something that your TV comes with. This probably isn't even available in Ireland and I have a Chromecast so I don't really see any reason to upgrade. Nice video though 🙂

  9. I just want to know if I can get an SNES app working smoothly on this thing. Does chrome work for downloading roms and will that controller let me play super Mario. But it early I don't expect the answer right away

  10. I'm torn between this and the Amazon Fire TV. The Fire has the better specs and I know that 2GB or RAM would help out greatly with playing graphic intensive games. But then I much prefer having Android OS and being able to cast my screen. I was hoping to play Real Racing 3 on the Nexus Player since it drains my battery so quick on the Nexus 7 and would look better on a TV but with only 1GB of RAM I don't know if it could run it if they even add the game into the store. I really hope someone takes the Nexus Player's OS and puts it on the Fire TV which would be the much better device if someone can get it running Android.
