Yes, an update will come to bring the full, proper Google Assistant to the Shield TV – my comments here are based on the current iteration (voice search or whatever you want to otherwise describe it) that came with the very recent Nougat update. My mistake, apologies – a full video showing off the proper Google Assistant capabilities will come when the final version arrives. The good news is that a full Google Assistant may indeed make the Shield TV as good as Google Home, like I said I wanted it to. Thanks for watching/reading and for your feedback!

Business Opportunity in Ruvol
I have invented a Board Game [still unpublished and not yet out in the market] that I believe is guaranteed to be as challenging and exciting as CHESS. I called it “RUVOL.”
It is my hope that one day Ruvol may surpass chess as the “Number One Board Game in the World.”
The weakness of chess is it always starts in fixed positions that the opening moves become “memorizable.” In fact, not a few have so mastered the moves that they can play against their opponents “blindfolded.” It is for this very reason that the great Bobby Fischer introduced his so-called “Fischer Random Chess,” where the starting position of the pieces is “randomized” to make the memorization of openings impracticable. Fortunately, it is also for this reason that I invented Ruvol where “every game” has been calculated to be a challenging one to play.

It is worthwhile to note that the people who play chess will be the same people who will play Ruvol. In my Google search, I learned there are around 800 million chess players in the world. Even just a small percentage of these 800 million is good enough to earn big money from Ruvol either as an ONLINE GAME BUSINESS or as a PHYSICAL PRODUCT DISTRIBUTOR.

MORE POWERFUL DON'T THINK SO – same specs as 2015 the remote sux mine came dead. YOU CAN'T CHARGE IT – they removed the sd card / usb port. that is how they made it smaller. YOU DON'T HAVE A POWER BUTTON. The remote is not environmentally friendly and you will have to buy a new one within a year.. IT IS A BEAST OF A BOX.. I found the 2015 controller better and had more options thanks for the review. Thanks for the review
Is it still worth buying in 2018 or just go with some good specs android box ? Cuz u can buy really good box for aprox 100-150$.
bought it, set it up and sent it back! If youre looking for slow response and nothing more than a movie library…this is it, otherwise spend the money on reliable cable and a ps4 for gaming. not impressed at all doesn't do the great job it says it does

This review is missing information on the streaming local Geforce (PC) rendered gameplay to the Shield and TV. Is this supported at all? It hasnt been metioned in the slightest…
Its not more powerful than the 2015 version. Hardware is exactly the same.

How anyone can dislike such heigh quality video
You only spoke about eh gaming & streaming features, spending most of your time on the former. I personally have ZERO interest in the gaming features. I want to be able to play local content from a hard drive or USB thumb drive. And I want it to support many codecs like HEVC. The 2 things I want in a TV box is
1. Ability to play content from my hard drive without needing the internet, with support for most codecs & video formats including HEVC & 4k. Hence the need for a USB port.
2. An app store with a big marketplace of apps. I like to stream contents from news apps.
The rest is just bonus I don't care much about.
I am mad as hell that I built a pc…hold up! No, I'm not because the Shield is my living room pc! Thanks, NVIDIA!
