  1. I get a no response message on the head unit when I plug in my phone via the USB cable. My phone is being detected, it begins charging but the Android auto app does not start on the head unit, I just get a 'no response' message…any idea why??

  2. Can u use the "Ok Google" voice command to trigger prompts? Some of us dont have steering wheel buttons.

Also, can we set alarms/reminders or ask it "what song is playing" or other Google Now commands??

  3. The android head units that already exist (from China) are way better than this and they have more features. This is too restrictive and will probably be overpriced.

  4. I wish pioneer had a optional way to download firmware of carplay or android auto to other have units like avh-x4700bs and more units.

  5. my honda civic (2014) voice buttons doesnt work with my unit how do i make it work? and i did install steering wheel control also

  6. Lol it took google now long enough to send a message… FAILED! the guy already said send text message to the individual… still Google Now asked him to whom again?

  7. whats the right most button for ?
the one on the right side of the music button

how can i open my gmail
or how to initiate a whatsapp message

can i open youtube or gallery or any other app like newsstand, chrome, twitter
i know its counter intuitive for safety
but i 90% have my wife besides me wants to use my phone occasionally
and sometimes we all need to check something in the internet
my country's traffic is jammed everyday anyway

can i switch maps, lets say to use waze
just like we can chose our music player

do android auto have a build in radio tuner ?
CMIIW but the radio tuner in the beginning of the video is pioneers ?

is there any night mode ?
all android interface uses white color which hurt eyes at night
lets say the home cards, map template, music controller were all white

  8. Maybe I'm missing something but…   How is this better than getting a dash mount for my Moto X besides a larger screen?

So this is an external monitor for my phone plus a mic and a button. Also has the side 'benefit' of disabling most of the phones functions.

  9. Can't believe that last year model NEXs won't be upgraded to android auto like they did for Car Play…. there is literally no other obvious difference between the 4000 and 4100 all the way up to 8000 and 8100…. am I missing something?

  10. God… The voice texting demonstration looked so archaic. It reminds me of watching old sci-fi movies with their crappy technology. I so desperately want to witness the year 3000 to observe and interact with the technology in that period. (Maybe I can meet and befriend a robot names Bender too.)

  11. Hmmm. My smart watch is a lot cheaper and can so all that. I already mount my phone/tablet for navigation. I don't see any thing here unless I'm missing something.

  12. Where was the voice action for listening to the received text?  There was too much hands on screen/reading the screen for a solution that touts being handsfree.  In fact, most of the demo was done with him touching the screen, which really is no different from a decent skin on a phone in a cradle.
