  1. BubbleUPNP uses DLNA. It needs a media server or a stream link to function. I use it to push streaming media from the internet to my smart tv. Best function in my opinion.

I am confused as to how BubbleUPnP works, you said you use the Plex server, is the Plex server a premade server with lots of content already on it that you can stream from them, or is it just a type of server that you upload your own downloaded movies, music etc to and stream from your own content?

  3. Windows shared folder seems to be much better than DLNA, simpler server setup on Windows or Linux, much lighter server and client, and even less bandwidth usage. and no need for transcoding. On android I use BSPlayer. It is very light, can play all video formats, and download subtitles automatically from the Internet.
