Rolling out the robocops
President Trump offered help. The racist hateful Democrats attacked President Trump. No sympathy for Chicago. You’re getting exactly what you voted for. Your hate of President Trump is now your payback, for the carnage. Looking forward to hearing about more crime, violence and murder in Chicago.
The father of the officer that is still in the ICU @ University of Chicago blamed Lori lightfoot for creating the conditions that led to his son being shot, and his son's partner, CPD Officer Ella French, being fatally shot.
I can tell you as a resident of the City of Chicago, that the gangs and stupid people feel emboldened by the lack of leadership on the 5th floor of City Hall.
Let me give a few examples.
When the protests occured at the dismantling of the Christopher Columbus statues in both Millennium Park (aka Grant Park) and Arrigo Park (Taylor Street / Little Italy Neighborhood), front line police officers assigned to protect those statutes were subject to assaults by frozen water bottles, artillery grade mortar fireworks, military grade SC tear gas and bear spray, umbrellas with sharpened tips, skateboards, rebar used as clubs, oil and other liquids put into squirt bottles and aimed at the faces of these officers, who were there to prevent the illegal removal of these statutes.
There are many videos of those protests showing the coordinated assaults CPD endured during those riots.
Then the mayor caved in to the demands of the rioters, and had city crews, in the dead of night, remove both statutes.
To places unknown.
She says she is still deciding if they should go back up.
When the George Floyd protests disintegrated into rioting and looting all across the city, the mayor's directives to the CPD command staff, and therefore the officers, was to not aggressively defend property, but, unless a life was in danger, to bascially let the looters, arsonists, and rioters do what they do, and to catch them later.
The Loop and the remainder of downtown has still not recovered from this wound, people feel unsafe, and the Loop still looks like a ghost town even at 12 in the afternoon in broad daylight.
Then the carjackings.
You better say the Lord's Prayer before you pull out of your driveway or garage, if you even sometimes get that far, so you can have the Blood of Jesus protecting you against these carjackers, who now are more numerous than the rats in this city.
Finally, the shootings, mass shootings, pistol whippings on public transportation, random gunfire anywhere from the tony stores of the Mag Mile to the toughest neighborhoods of the city, the infestations of gang life into every nook and cranny of the city, and worse, no leadership from the 5th floor, and you have the recipie for how to kill a Great City.
I will say one thing. When Papa Daley and his Son, Richard M. Daley, were running the City, you had some problems, but the criminal element knew where the red lines were.
Maybe we can somehow convince Patrick Daley to come back home from California, and do the Will of God, and save this city that his Father and Grandfather spent so much time building into the great metropolis that it is.
It just means things have to taken in hand again.
Chicago cannot suffer weak mayors, let alone another (4) years from an incumbent that did not grow up here, does not have viable roots here, and where she has alienated both the Chicago City Council Aldermanic Body, and the whole of the CPD itself.
Otherwise, let's just call in the military and put the entire city under martial law.
Then unleash the military on the domestic terrorists aka gangs that cripple the life of the city.
They know who these guys and girls are.
The people in the neighborhoods know who these people are.
Do like President Lincoln did during the Civil war and suspend Habeas Corpus for these people, give them military trials, and deal with them.
