someone who needs a gun to feel safe is a coward! If you had actual physical prowess, emotional navigation skills or tactical capabilities you wouldn’t need a machine to make yourself feel powerful. The fact that you think you do tells me you’re too weak mentally, emotionally and physically to be able to subdue physical threats without a weapon…and that’s why you’re just so threatened by gun control.
the common person arms race in order to achieve safety in community is only theoretical and doesn’t apply to the reality of how citizens actually create safety in spaces.
It would mean that in order for people to be safe in the community they would have to wear guns and bullet proof armor everywhere they go to be able to compete with anyone with a semi automatic at any time.
If it doesn’t matter how trained you are physically a gun will beat you…that means in order for the common person to actually be safe in a community everyone needs at leas a gun…semi automatic weapons make it so that a gun with just a round of bullets could never compete with a sprayer so that would then mean that the common person would need at least a semi automatic to match that ability in order to level the playing field where actual skill and precision of gun use would have any bearing on your capabilities of defending yourself and thus your safety.
This is a fallacy because it’s a community arms race for a feeling of safety that will never come. Most people with guns aren’t trained how to use it tactically and especially not with the precision and excellence defending against an active shooter requires.
and even if you’re hell bent and determined to maintain gun rights… even though they do infinitely more harm than good in society. And the feeling of safety is false considering the tactical gear required to actually defend yourself in common practice… then why not make it so people have to pass a background check, get training and take an actual test to prove there abilities to protect themselves instead of endanger society? How can you defend so much testing around driving a car because of its potential liability on society and not weapons whose sole purpose is destruction?
