3. this is how you get a job. apply online, send your resume. then call that company a day or so later if you havent heard back asking if they received your application and resume, and you would like to speak with them in person to see if its a mutual fit. you will get that interview in person every time. companies want people who show initiative.

I know people like this who claim they can’t find a job with a bachelors, masters or higher degree and it’s because their resume is terrible, full of errors or shows ego (adding a B.A., B.S. to the end of their name, or they use over inflated language, or they don’t interview well or show up late or not at all, make demands as if they’re negotiating an NBA contract, shoee we up inappropriately dressed, never write thank you letters/emails, fail to put in the effort to fill out a job application and write “see resume” for everything, apply to the wrong jobs or think that they deserve higher level jobs without having the skills or experience…. the list goes on. Then, there are people who put in the effort into customizing their resume, applying to the right jobs, filling out required forms, and have common sense who get the jobs within a week. If you’re not getting hired, you’re doing something wrong. It’s that simple.

7. He should do sales. Most sales jobs just care if you finished school and aren't a socially awkward individual.
   I started off doing vendor sales in grocery making 50k.
   Now in another industry doing sales making over 100k…..why? Not my justice studies degree…because of my EXPERIENCE.
   Be patient and it will come. I remember plenty of days in the car saying FML.

9. Man my story is so similar to Kyle's. I was unemployed for a year, applied to 1,000+ jobs (probably 2k but haven't officially counted) I have my updated resume on every major job board and most of the staffing agencies in my area. I received a bunch of interviews for all of the crappy jobs (low pay, short term, no benefits) and 5 interviews from legit jobs in the past year and I was able to land a job finally! Just like Kyle, I had money saved up so I wasn't stressing……..at first. Fast forward a year later, my savings almost depleted, starting holding the little cash I had left and started paying my rent with my credit cards. Things got real really fast. Thank goodness I'm back on my feet. Man it sucks being unemployed!

12. As a grad of the Great Recession back in 2010, I can tell you that it's very very very difficult to graduate into a recession. It's no easy task to get a job for a grad in any economy but it's especially difficult to find a job in a recession. It really makes it difficult to get your career started. As a result I still don't have a job in my major more than 10 years later. My advice for the grads of this pandemic would be to get whatever job you can and get out of debt as fast as you can.

21. I don’t want to hate on the young man’s major in college but you have to choose your degree wisely you have to understand the job market for the skills you’re going to acquire. For psychology you need a PhD to secure a job and even then those jobs are just floating around. Those degrees will cost a lot of money which you have to pay out-of-pocket or finance in student loans and then you will need a job you may not find a job particularly if you only have your bachelors degree or your masters degree.

    Now take a different field anything math science and engineering related and get your bachelors degree and that you will find a job if you get a graduate degree in that field you’ll be close to six figures if not making six figures.

    It’s not only about going to college and studying it’s about what you choose to study. This is the one thing I do not hear enough of in these videos.

22. If you have a bachelor's degree and can't get work that is obviously a market issue. There's no way you apply to 1500 jobs, many of which are not even the field you studied for and get only 7 interviews. This market seems hopeless for recent grads.

25. No matter what degree getting a job with it most likely won’t happen. We live in a broken system it’s like going to college was a waste of time and I want to go back but I see it won’t get me anywhere.

28. I think the perspective should be more about life skills along with College education. It’s definitely not smart to quit a job unless you already have another job. You need to cut down WAY DOWN on your expenses: rent a room vs renting an apartment. Fresh out of college you need to be willing to take any job, ie a “surviving job” vs a build a career path type of job.And finally be willing to move ANYWHERE where there are jobs.

29. I graduated in 2009 I know the feeling Finding a job was horrible coming out of college for me. Now I’m in an industry that requires no degree and making more than If I went to school for nursing. College imo a dream yet a scheme.

30. People are shocked by this? When I graduated in 2012 I applied to hundreds of jobs as well, and the only place that would hire me was the Jersey Mike's that stole my tips. But this guy actually had savings too, don't know how he managed that.

32. Really, 6 interviews with the same company? Very strange…the red flag was the 1500 applications which is OTT! Either he did the wrong degree, or his CV is not good.

    Around 99% of my clients came to me with very poor CVs, which would be automatically rejected by employers for all sorts of reasons…and these “unlucky” candidates would keep thrashing away, sending their same junk CVs, until I edited it and they got jobs within a week! Why 6 interviews with the same company?

33. Unless you’re getting a Ph.D from a respected university it’s best to avoid: Psychology, Art History, Music History, Sociology, and any subject that doesn’t make money.

34. The pandemic has nothing to do with this case, a bachelor's degree in psychology hasn't been a marketable degree for decades.
