  1. Funny. The people who did these repetitive jobs did nothing but complain about them. Now that technology is replacing them people are crying foul. I told people this back when I worked in manufacturing. You're lucky to be making what you are making and if you lost this job today you'd be lucky to make 1/2 your salary elsewhere. The lazy American worker has no one to blame but themselves – cause you do not fix what is not broken.

  2. Sounds like Americans need to March on congress and all institutions but not like Trumps Proud Boys.

Stand up and lead the future !

Or sit back and show the world where you stand

  3. First it's this, then it'll be the less skilled required jobs like restaurants and fast food (which due to the sudden shortage of employees wanting to return to work, is going to happen a lot quicker than previously thought). If your job requires computer worker, you best believe your job will be automated in 5-10 years. Honestly, the only way to deal with this is to implement a permanent ubi.

  4. Shortage of what? People to program/operate the robots replacing them? Sorry, that's just not a job most people are even capable of. And it's not a job that will be around for long either.
The real complaint here, is that politicians are doing NOTHING to address the future we face, where most jobs most people can do, are automated away.. leaving most people without a traditional source of income, or any way to create new ones.

  5. I would like to think of job automation as ending work slavery instead of automation being used to make the rich richer and to enslave everybody else

  6. The answer to this education, education, education. We need as close to 100% high school graduation rates as possible then people need a skill set like a plumber, electrician, truck driver, robot repair, tractor operator, computer programmer, AI researcher, marketing, accountants, business degrees, apprenticeship programs, certification programs, community colleges, traditional colleges.

Large scale job retraining programs in companies restructuring welfare to develop a skill for unemployed workers.

  7. Robots should be working for humans not for the rich. Let the robots pay taxes because they take away the jobs from people and make money that they don’t spend except maintenance. Robots shall not rule people. People should rule the robots!

  8. So you're paying a guy $50,000 a year to create machines that eliminate more than 10 times their annual budget each… Why aren't these guys getting paid more? You guys are making a fortune you should be paying them more. The wage disparity is f**** unreal.

  9. Andrew Yang has been telling this to us for years now, companies with tech are taking peoples jobs, not illegal immigrants. This is why we need a UBI in this country, and the companies who use this tech to take jobs away will be fined, those funds used to pay for The UBI.
