  1. STUDENT LOAN DEBT USED TO BE DISCHARGEABLE VIA BANKRUPTCY LIKE MOST OTHER DEBT EXCEPT TO THE IRS. BIDEN VOTED FOR STUDENT LOANS TO BE MADE INELIGIBLE BACK IN THE 90S. THIS ENTIRE THING IS A FARCE. JUST MAKE THEM DISCHARGEABLE SO GRANDMOTHERS DON'T HAVE THEIR SOCIAL SECURITY CHECKS GARNISHED. TRUMP AND OTHER BILLIONAIRES DISCHARGE BILLIONS IN DEBT EVERY SINGLE YEAR. THIS IS A FARCE. RIGHT NOW AVERAGE INTEREST ON STUDENT LOANS IS 10,000. THAT IS WHAT THE INTEREST IS. BIDEN JUST GAVE ONE YEAR'S INTEREST AWAY. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I BORROWED $25,000 WHICH IS NOW $76,000 AFTER BEING ENCOURAGED TO DEFER MY LOAN AND THE INTEREST FEES ACCUMULATED. THIS IS A BLOODY FARCE. JUST MAKE THEM DISCHARGEABLE LIKE OTHER DEBT AND STOP THIS SMOKE AND PONY SHOW.

  2. We the people need to demand action on this. One person, no matter who he is cannot simply alter the terms of contract and thereby make another persona, (the taxpayer) liable for the debt. We need to sue in federal court and ask for an immediate temporary restraining order stopping the President's action.

  3. While it is helpful for the short term, it makes me sick at heart to realize that this issue does not even try to address the real problem, which is the insane cost of higher education in the USA..
The educational institutions and banks are now just like the healthcare institutions and insurance companies – They are out of control when it comes to making a profit and we only have to look at the other developed countries in the world to see just how ridiculously high they are in comparison.
This has to be stopped, even if it means nationalizing or heavily regulating the provision of these basic services.
Has the phrase "Land of the Free, Home of the Brave" now become "Land of the Fee, Home of the Wage Slaves"?

  4. They putting a band aid instead of fixing the wound,, is crazy we allow colleges skyrocket prices like that we need to fix that firts ,,,, and also I don't agree on cancel the debt but we waste money on less important issue like build another aircraft Carrier 🤷 to fight who ??

  5. $10k isn’t a lot of money but it’s acceptable. I’m glad I went to college, I’ve been paying it slowly off ever since graduating in 2016 and I’m still able to pay it all off within 10 years as long as I don’t have kids (seriously) so mathematically I can pay off $50,000-$100,000 within 5-10 years much faster than paying $300,000 for raising a child (0-18 years not including college or other expenses)

There’s a lot of individuals out there who didn’t finish college while taking out loans, which you’re still paying those loans off without any degree attached to it. I’ll never understand college dropouts, you personally made the choice to sign up in the first place, and college is the only thing that grants you an education and placement advantage in the working world in exchange for the debt.

Going into student loan debt is one thing but going into that debt without completing the program and getting the degree is mind boggling to me. You’re choosing to just having the debt without the benefit of the degree, I’ll never understand that. I literally partied for 5 years and then finished 5 years later and got my degrees. I was paying $3k a semester for 10 years. It was a blast and so many good memories.

The social exposure from college is necessary for some in order to properly interact in the human world. Only college provides that kind of social and human exposure experience. (Lots of hot chicks)

  6. It is not only unfair for those who paid their loans or did not take out a loan but to those who will take out a loan in the future … or democrats want to turn this into perpetuity?

  7. @:48 it's nice to know with Ana (who probably ran up a bill to party her ass off, was able to get drunk, pregnant & a free abortion) someone will lower the cost today for her, even though the school she went to just raised her tuition $10k going forward.

  8. The admission standards must be none existent now if college students cannot even understand how a simple loan works. Get yourself together and have some pride, pay your debts.

  9. Simple solution to the ongoing high tuition costs. Make the teachers work summers too, LIKE THE REST OF US. In simple terms, 33% more teaching staff available, then they can cut their staff by 33%(and tuition costs by 33%). Why does it take a national crisis to occur before talking about solutions to a problem?

  10. Look guys your 18 right… spend the next 3 years living with your parents and save up your money, go live a little then go to school.. you have a whole fucking life ahead of you! They want you to keep your head down running into the wall.

  11. Republicans had PPP (PayCheck Protection Program) business loans FORGIVEN BY THE GOVERNMENT! Many of these individual PPP loans were worth MILLIONS OF DOLLARS……So Republicans are fine with the Government FORGIVING THEIR PPP BUSINESS LOANS……..But Republicans don't want the student loans of the working class and poor people forgiven…….Hypocritical Republican f*cking scumbags!

  12. When you start giving money to free loaders you create weak men and women who result in nothing but liability in future. People always know what they have taken in loan agreement why the hell another person should pay for someone else? Why?

  13. What ever happened to ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country .????? Student loan forgiveness teaches irresponsibility and entitlement!!!!! People need to take responsibility of there actions!!! If you can't afford it don't buy it!!!!!!! Will my bank forgive my buying a 100,000 ev and just say that's OK never mind paying us back???!!!! ME THINKS NOT?!!!Biden is just trying to BUY VOTES!!!! No real value here!!

  14. No one complained about the ”unfairness” of these bailouts:
    Farmers bailed out by Trump
Banks bailed out by Obama and Trump
    Automakers bailed out by Obama
    S&Ls bailed out by Reagan
Banks bailed out by George W Bush
Airlines bailed out by Obama and again by Trump
PPP loans taken by the wealthy who did not need them – forgiven

Or handouts in the tax code. Are THESE unfair:

    carried interest loophole
mortgage interest deduction (tax payers subsidize rich people's mortgages)
SALT tax cuts (other tax payers pay for state and local tax deductions for the wealthy)

multiple “subsidies” paid by taxpyers that go to BIG CORPS – no one asks how those are paid for.

So, ALL those things are fair and don't have to be paid for but a tiny fraction of the budget going to bail out student loan borrowers with NO hope of catching up in a permanently low-growth economy – well, THAT'S UNFAIR!!!!

    can you spell: h y p o c r i t e ?

(Hint: Some people chose to do work that is not rewarded by our society like art, teaching, counseling. But those are so low paid, many of us regret the loans because we'll never make enough to pay them back in a society that does NOT value our contributions. The student loan borrowers who went into lucrative jobs and COULD pay back, please don't be so angry with us. We went into art and teaching and got screwed. Please understand that it is fair for us to get some help when all those industries got some help too. We contribute to society but don't get rewarded – that is not fair. So what do you want to do? Did you scream “UNFAIR” at all the bailouts listed above for industry and the wealthy who DON'T NEED IT? I bet you did not.)
