  1. A friend of mine had a restraining order against her husband. He kept harrassing her & coming to her workplace. Police wouldn't do anything unless he physically assaulted her

  2. Feminist gets murdered by boyfriend. You'd think she would have avoided a guy like in the first place? If you're strong and empowered etc you would be smart enough to avoid the "bad boy" violent types, surely?!

  3. as tragic as her death is, restraining orders should NOT be "forever til the victim says it expires" .. this is ludacrist .. in our country you are Innocenct until Proven guilty .. ROs are just a testament or declaration which claims abuse/dv/stalking but its been used before in relationships, divorce, child custody, etc and while they are usually granted, they are not always true.. so if you file a RO and it never "expires" essentially youre criminal record is now at the whimsy of a jilted lover whether youv committed these acts or not . its also very infrequent that a partner will kill their ex .. youv a higher likelihood of death from an auto accident .. again, this was tragic, but let's not over-react .. we don't convict ppl for being "guilty" first, thats Communist Russia, China, India, Pakistan and Iran etc etc ..

  4. Yea I bet he tried to escape! Disgusting excuse of a man 😡 He deserves to rot in prison and then in hell. Some "men" are so full of themselves and just can't fathom why someone wouldn't want to be with them. This happens way too often and I don't think a restraining order would have done anything. He knew exactly what he was going to do and no piece of paper was going to stop him unfortunately😔😟

  5. I agree that restraining orders aren't very hopeful as they are. First of course, the person has to do something that you can prove to get one, than they have to do something again that you can prove for them to violate the order and have it used against them. Unfortunately, women have to disappear, to hide, change their address, job, phone number, etc to get away and than always look over their shoulder. Or have enough to hold over the person to get them to stop.

  6. Unfortunately due to the new DA in Los Angeles, Mr. Gascon doesn’t believe in the death penalty and more into rehabilitation so her abuser/killer will probably get off with a light sentence.

  7. Getting another restraining order probably would not have made a difference. The laws just don’t protect women from this sort of thing. I had an ex violate a restraining order in a public place on camera and he totally got out of it. Nothing was done. For the initial attack he got probation for multiple months. That’s it. He had been harassing and stalking me for months prior to the attack and the police did nothing except recommend that I delete all of his messages (evidence.)

  8. The same people..mainly men who are responsible for the laws and passing of laws are the same ones who intimidate their spouses or girlfriends etc.. even police officers are doing it too.. this is absolutely insane and yet unfortunately the law will not stop this bc if someone is crazy enough to kill you they are going to regardless of the consequences or whom it may hurt.. narcissistic people and behavior is not fixable even with a law or jail time..

  9. My sister in law been stocked for 5 years and put restraining order, he burned her cars broke in her apt now her house.. He knows her every move but police say they need proof.. Im scared FOR HER.

  10. Restraining order does nothing. If somebody wants to hurt you, or wants you dead, basically you’re dead. Anybody can just shoot you while you’re walking to and from your car or in a parking lot. Even if she had a gun, it probably wouldn’t have protected her in this instance. He broke into her house and was waiting for her. We think he grabbed her while she was changing her clothes. He probably grabbed her from behind and strangled her. She had no way to even get to a gun if she had one. Same scenario would reply apply if someone grabs you while you’re showering or sleeping. Even if you have a gun, you’re not gonna be able to get to it to save yourself😕. I guess the only help would be knowing some serious self-defense. But, he was a foot taller than her and outweighed her by 100 pounds💔

  11. I absolutely agree that restraining orders should not have an expiration date! I hope that becomes a law in Amie's name.

  12. Stalking is so normalized. Stories like this makes me so afraid to even talk about why. I tell my therapist the law doesn’t care about women.

  13. My ex boyfriend had a stalker. She was a temp worker and she was obsessed. She made a lot of threats and would wait outside his building every night (he was night shift). I also received threats that she would have me raped. It was insane. We had to warn the building admins to not let her in the building. This went on for years until she moved to a different location. This chick was crazy. It was a scary time.

  14. OJ DIDN'T DO IT STUPID BITCH . IT WAS KHRIS KARDASHIAN AND KATO KALENE BECAUSE KHRIS WAS HIDING HER SECRETS AND SHE WAS CHEATING WITH OJ AS WELL AS KATO. KHLOE HAS BEEN PROVEN TO BE OJ DAUGHTER

  15. Wow, sounds like stalking victims will need to own guard dogs, carry bear spray, wear armour, have body guards, install very sophisticated security systems, and hire detectives to surveil these freaks.

  16. He's bi polar like that yte NFL player and on meds, nothing to see, move along, funny how it was using OJ as a reference,,,,,

  17. I thought this was a Armie Hammer 🔨 story 😳 there's now a conspiracy that he murdered a woman 👩

  18. These "if I can't have you, no one can" psychos need to be buried under the jail. These individuals were NOT raised right. At ALL.

  19. TW TW TW: This right here is why I stayed with my abuser for 4 years. One day I decided I’d rather die than be with him one more day, I was literally willing to die. I’m glad I got out alive but many others are not so lucky. May she Rest In Peace 🤲🏼

  20. My ex stalked me. He would follow me home from our high school. He seemed to be everywhere. And he would make a "woop woop" cop siren sound to let me know he was there. He tried to sleep with all my friends. He hacked my Facebook. He would show up at my house and stare at me through the window… he would call me from random numbers, everyday. For years.. like 6 years later he still called me randomly from unknown numbers. I got rid of my voicemail because his voicemails became scary. I'm still paranoid about it. There was another guy stalking me at the same time. It was scary.
