Authorities are investigating claims by a former member of Britney Spears’ security team that Spears’ father Jamie monitored all of her phone calls and text messages, even recording in her bedroom. NBC News’ Emili Ikeda looks at the details of the case.

  1. Here's the issue with California being a two party consent state: Brittany is NOT her own person. Her father is in charge of her. Although unethical, she pretty much belongs to him, and him recording her without her consent is legal because she's no different than a minor child. It's like parents listening in on their teens. If you don't like this, write your legislatures about guardianship/conservatorship laws and rules in your state.
