I think this is more of a cultural conversation than a racial issue (although the statistics about the discrepancies in African American vs African immigrant earnings is very important and based in racial bias). The cultural identity of a black American is different than someone who is a descendant of immigrants.I think it's an interesting conversation that should be had though.

There is a simple clarification here…when the Japenes recieved reperations they did not give it to the Chinese, the Koreans or the Vietnamese…they acknlodeged the Japanese and repaired what they had done to them during WWiI internment. Native Black Americans have never received the justice or respect deserved and other groups use our identity to benefit from a society that they did not create from the ground up. I have gone to Africa and the Caribean and frankly they can be more racist twords native black ADOS than whites once the arrive here. Itilians are not Irish, Japenese are not Chinese and Germans are not Jewish people. It's about heritage and legacy that us ADOS are arguing which is not anti-African Americans..but pro our 400+ years of oppression that has never been addressed. These folks are not stupid! They are cunningly disingenuous. Most are well aware that their personal experiences of prejudice, i.e., trying to get a cab is not the same as ADOS folks position as the multi-generational, “bottom caste” of America and world imperialism. They were in the same position in Europe, but chose to immigrate. They didn’t stay to struggle and die for their “just dues” from Europe. But chose to come here to USA. Here they sat back “in the cut”, often misrepresenting themselves on the path made by our ADOS struggle and sacrifices via Civil Right legislation.
