Also shouldn’t assume that all careers are made equal in this current climate. Picking up 50k in loans to make 30k/year isn’t a smart financial decision. Not the (likely) 17/18 year old kids fault for not understanding this stuff though. Had I known then what I know now, I definitely wouldn’t have blindly trusted the “advice” of the admissions advisor. Lot more complicated than signing blank checks.

I think it's a dumb thing to only take off student loans for someone that is just on SSI or been a teacher when many who go to trade schools should have long taken off and long forgiveness as well. The minimum you should be considering is 30 thousand off a student loans. Up to $20,000 for skilled trades. 21. I'm an RN with a 2 year degree. Hospitals in the US are going back to their pre-covid hiring demands and are asking for a 4 year degree, but will NOT pay more. The extra two years is only filled with "fluff" courses like communications and cultural awareness which I'm sure are great to learn about in a classroom setting, but are not nursing skills.

    I have no interest in pursuing the additional education because I'm really happy working at a clinic, but I'm still very angry with employer's expectations that nurses pay way more money and spend more years of their lives to get NOTHING more.
