I'm not sure most people get that Ukraine is a divided country that was part of different empires. The people of West Ukraine hate Russians and want exclusive ties to the West. Most Ukrainians want peace and ties with both sides. People in Donbass have issues with language laws and want to maintain close ties with Russia. In East Ukraine, they frequently intermarry with Russians. Plus, bizarrely, the people of West Ukraine tend to be ultranationalist fascists'. they love to celebrate the birthday of Stephan Bandera. Poland love West Ukraine, but even they don't like Bandera. That means, the Left in my country, USA, hate Russia so much, are supporters now of ultranationalist fascist in Ukraine. That very crazy, bizarre and scary. We love Israel in this country and they have issues with our new friends. That's a measure of how radical we've become in this country.
