Sorry, but I have no sympathy for this individual and other one serving a jail sentence implicated in this saga. Leaking government T secrets etc is pretty serious treacherous stuff. Never justifiable. Regardless of your personal political views on issues as a journalist, public servant, whatever. If your job involves keeping secrets secret, you just keep them secret, regardless of whether you agree or not. You are not paid to express your disagreement with eg policies. You are paid to keep secrets, guard sensitive information, transfer it to the designate people in the required manner etc. In other words, practise strict privacy, information security. In Australia, the penalties for information security and privacy breaches are severe but I think they should be even more severe and the law concern g such serious matters needs to be administered more rigorously, to prevent the sorts of crimes and risks to national security and to individual lives, businesses, careers etc such serious breaches of information privacy and security can pose, if treated casually and flippantly, like they are in some organisations, businesses departments etc in Australia. How many times do we go to some business and before you even agree to transact with them at all, they demand your phone number, address, Email, date of birth, formal ID etc etc and if you ask why they need to ask this u ou are made to feel bad. I always demand to know why they need to know and who will know, why, how, what for etc. Basically all the same ins and outs of a duck's arse they see ubject me to. Often I simply refuse to tell them and walk out. Eg what if I am too poor to own a phone number or can't access any computer to have an Email address I have no need g or, if I constantly moved house and had no fixed address? Nobody has the right to dictate that I ou must own a phone number, live at one fixed address etc etc. But they try to and subject you to discrimination, even abuse if you cannot or will not give them information they cannot justify legitimately requiring. They deny you some essential service, like medical or similar Like, try calling a taxi from a phone box at midnight in some dangerous location and the taxi operator wants your phone number but you have none. Your chances of a cab arriving will be remote and you could end up murdered waiting there for one that will never be sent. Because you had no phone, when most do. Fact is, a phone number is not essential for a taxi business to send you a cab you ordered. All they need is a clear recognisable address and u our name and maybe a brief description of yourself eg clothes or hair colour to identify you as the correct passenger who ordered the cab. Some information others are reluctant to give out I freely give because it is really pretty worthless. But other information I always ask need to know type questions before I g I've it out eg my phone number. The good thing about doing this is I nseldom if ever receive annoying unwanted calls many complain they get.

What George town university is doing is more like restitution not reparations. Lets say Im 60 years old not going to school and not opening a business. The restitution money towards my community does not really do much for me and what if I move, now Im no longer in that community. Only individual payments can be reparations every thing else is just community biulding.
