  1. I am starting to wonder about these fires and how many people are making hundreds of thousands a year to fight them. It is becoming suspicious. I think we need an investigation.

  2. Wonder why they are burning out all out forests? No place to run or hide. If the govt keeps spraying accelerants on this state, there won't be any state. Or is it just The End?

  3. I live between Dunsmuir and Mt Shasta. The fire is still 26 miles to my south but heading in this general direction. There is no panic, but the vehicles of southern Siskiyou County are loaded with the most important documents and irreplaceable photographs, and with all the cherished belongings of their owners.

Speaking for my wife and myself I soon realized after a few phone calls that our children, grandchildren and our dogs were safe. That’s more than what anyone could wish for.

Yeah. There is a lot of stuff I’d hate to lose, but it’s stuff. Stuff can be replaced, to a degree. And replaced with newer stuff, as a rule. The antiques and other collections will be a loss. I-5 will be closed to Sunday at best, according to the CHP.

And it’s out of my hands anyway. So I’m going to get up and go fix me a tuna sandwich.
