I've also face this attack.
The fault lies with the manufactures of systems hardware and software. It's time the manufactures build in better security, rather than rely on the security software industry to fix design flaws in their software. Time for a rethink of the software architecture and the way data is separated from applications, and add hardware interlocks.
Companies should be treated like employees that gave out company secrets when they fail to keep customer info safe.

I think you also have to mention that 3/4 or more of the ransomware attacks come from Russian language countries. And that is not according to a U.S. cybersecurity firm, that is coming from a Russian one 2 years ago (Kaspersky). So businesses and governments need to put more pressure on Ukraine, eastern bloc and Russian countries.
So they decided to share there ransomware afte getting gas up to 3 dollars a gallon. Good job oil industry.
