There were like 2-3 BLM gatherings in each state that we saw were like a couple hundred here, a thousand or so there. Many did have masks. Not like BLM is big here in the Dakotas! Meanwhile, 3 people in my family, 34 people in my town got Rona from the little 300,000 person thing in Sturgis. No masks to be seen at any of the President’s rallies, or at Sturgis. I do data science and there is a near perfect correlation between the rallies, Sturgis and other non-mask events and massive spreading. 20% of the entire country’s infections in August – early September are from Sturgis alone. As much as 275,000. We see a 0.14 to 0.165 correlation between the BLM events and outbreak. The worst part is the 7-21 days post event that many of my friends and neighbors went around infecting people before they came down with symptoms. One person infects an average of 212 people in ND and 287 in SD. That’s higher than most cities where mask wearing and some social distancing is practiced. Stop the stupidity people— I’m a Red-Stater born and bread and viruses are not political, unless you let politicians and mainstream news manipulate you to thinking it is.
Actually, North Dakota has a higher death rate than ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! South Dakota is now third in the world, and they are both about 600%the US national average, which is the worst in the world. So, the Dakotas and its governor that thumbed her nose about the SARS-COV-2 virus and the need for social distancing and masks has helped to make her home state the worst of the worst in the entire world. Not a minor feat given their low population density. However, stupidity like this is a good part of the reason why Republicans, and especially Trump supporters are getting sick and dying at the highest rate of the entire world now .
Not wearing a mask is not exercising personal freedom any more than drinking and driving is— by not wearing a mask and social distancing, they are killing and maming their neighbors, destroying their own economies and damaging America, which now accounts for well over 30% of all infections and deaths across the entire globe. Of just the part that could have been readily avoided, the current economic damage is over $16 Trillion dollars, and additional long term health care costs in our country are estimated at a minimum of $8 Trillion dollars. However, given the massive amount of infections that are now roughly doubling each month since those earlier studies and projections, those amounts may be less than a third of the total costs, which the latest estimates are conservatively projecting to be over $35 Trillion dollars.
It is important to note that unless you are wearing a N95-N100, or a P95-P100 mask, which are designed to protect you AND others; not wearing a cloth, surgical or related mask is about protecting your family, neighbors and the country. So, not wearing a mask is NOT exercising your own personal freedom to risk getting sick. It is about being selfish and stupid enough to not care that you are part of a group decimating your own towns, cities, states and country— and saying that you care more about perceived political BS than you do about the lives and well-being of those around you. Any politicians and officials saying otherwise are simply trying to exploit you for their own political agendas, and don’t give a damn about you or those you love.
