We don’t need gun control, we need culture change, been packing my whole life, hunt, never shot anyone, plenty just like me, law abiding, but I have a question for the left, cause criminals will get guns no matter what.
Burglary, home invasion, your place , you have maybe 5 seconds to 2 minutes to react if that, you gonna fight or die on your knees ? Police can’t get to you fast enough, and by the way, this happens EVERYDAY
DC is not a state. It was never to be made a state. It is a special district created to house the federal government.
The federal government allowed for a city government as they could no longer manage the day to day city operations because the government and the city grew. But, there wasn't even supposed to be a city government. That is why the city's budget has to go through the Congress unlike with real, fully incorporated cities. It also is why DC residents, unlike people in other cities, have access to the Secret Service as a policing unit.
Giving DC state rights will jeopardize the security of the nation. The federal government has to have the final say in the district. Giving it stae rights will change that and that can jeopardize the nation's national security.
Another thing is that unlike other cities there is a boat load of federal governmental propertry in DC. Governmental property is mandated for the federal government to rule over. It is almost, but stronger, along the lines of a foreign embassy's patch up land is considered to be that state's sovereign space within the nation the embassy is within.
DC should never receive state rights. That is not in the best interest of the federal government, the only reason there is a DC to begin with.
They still think guns are killing humans…..instead of people. A gun without a person to pull the trigger is harmless!! The ignorance is incredible !
"GUN REFORM" is much a better word than GUN CONTROL… it is like "Global Warming" before,… now it is "Climate Change"… but with the same meaning, purpose, and intention…
