  1. Based on similar accidents, the driver should be a full time military trained and trained on vehicle ability! Was the driver a cadet or ?

  2. Based on other comments : I Cringe & want to lash out every time ,I hear: "It's just an Accident" or "It was a Fluke Accident" or "Unavoidable Accident" or other similar comments from responsible persons of trust!

  3. As an N.C.O. I was an instructor during Camp Buckner and Natural Bridge, 3 times during my 10 years. Best duty I had. We use dangerous equipment, life fire, arty, explosives, uneven terrain, repelling, heights, day and night, it's a dangerous profession.Training accidents are a fact of Military life.If we were as bad at what we do as civilians are at what they do,like the media, we would be having 1000 more incidents monthly. Prayers out to that Cadets family, and to the West Point Community, and my Army Family.

  4. First death there I've heard of. Even though it's a dangerous exercise, they still have an excellent safety record.

  5. Very similar thing happened to me. Our problem was the ice and snow though. The final bump had us go off road and all flying up to the ceiling and crashing back down. We were in FFO, rifles in hand. Sergeant nearly flew out the back, but we grabbed him.

  6. Yeah I be dead too if I was in a soft sided lame ass vehicle. Time to change that….I'm going to put wheels on an egg and drive on the highway tomorrow

  7. If I was driving a tent on wheels it would be illegal . File a lawsuit. No one should be driving in a lame ass vehicle like that. Is this really the military or a pink princess

  8. Too bad he died, he was so young….. He could've killed so many people abroad , he could've destroy many lives and families abroad bringing them democracy in the process, like so many others did before him.
    What a waste……

  9. Those vehicles look like they have a high center of gravity, inexperience/student in training too operate such vehicle, probably all have a part to play in this scenario. If this is the case it more than likely could have been preventable. Keep in mind that WE were NOT sitting in that operators seat and can't put blame on anyone person or scenario or mechanical failure until the full report is finalized.

  10. As a former JR R.O.T.C. Air Force I salute to the cadet my brother been in the Army a month before 9-11-2001 and still is 😞😟😢😢😭😭😭

  11. It was a traffic accident, tens of thousands of people die in these annually. Enlisting doesn't elevate the worth of your life above others. This was a routine loss of life, not anything more or less tragic than any other traffic accident. I don't understand all of the people lighting their hair on fire over this.
