  1. Okay I am an Athens and it has been a year since this crash happened and I would like to update anybody the tracks we're at an angle from the road so even if you did open the doors it would be very hard to see a train there in like it was said in the video there was no flashing lights or anything to indicate a trade other than you being able to see it but because of the angle you couldn't. Christopher was the only one who dies the other girl and the bus driver are okay and even though I feel it is wrong the bus driver was charged with manslaughter. This was a horrible accident and I would like everyone to know that it was not the bus driver's fault because I see a lot of people in the comments blaming the bus driver when it is very hard to see a train coming especially with no indications. The bus driver did come to a complete stop and did everything right he open the doors Etc. Everyone who witnessed this tragedy did also see the bus driver do everything right it was just bad timing.

  2. It is SO much better safe than sorry guys. ALWAYS stop at a railroad and roll your window down or crack your door open to look for lights & listen for horns. Just cause the railroad isn't operating doesn't mean a train won't be on it.

  3. A girl in elementary school seat her name was Jocelyn but now she’s OK and the authors name is Christopher Bonilla and he died and I live in Athens tx😭😭😭😭😭😓

  4. even here in elkhart trains are extremely hard to hear if you have to deal with the kinds of kids on my bus. this man was old, there was no warning of a crossing up ahead that could have been easily noticed, and no bars to signal that a train was coming, no flashing lites or bells and the bus driver only had one year of experience. my bus has had the same problem with noise control, but since my bus driver has been doing his job for so long he is diligent when it comes to crossings, you would not believe the people schools will let drive their busses. there is a man who almost destroyed my mailbox and once forgot to put our bus in park ( we slammed into the bus behind us, you could see the absolute terror on the drivers face behind us ) and the school district still lets him drive as a sub. they also still let us use those old busses that explode a lot just because “we’re poor” but the school is definitely not poor, guess if i explode it’s the schools fault for not caring enough about the students to hire staff that are trained and ready for their jobs, or upgrading busses that were outlawed quite a while back seeing as they tend to explode or catch on fire really easily. it’s not a “bus driver problem” it’s a problem with the school districts and how little they care about our safety on the bus, and school and how they’ll do just about anything to save a penny or two even if it means risking the lives of children.

  5. It doesn't matter if there was no warning

A bus is always supposed to stop at any track then open the door to listen for a train even if there's no train coming.
    He/She whatever… Shouldn't be letting a 78/77 whatever year old drive knowing how grandpa/grandma's are…
    But my Grandma be rolling😂😂😂
She be speeding and passing everybody

  6. What I hate so much is that if the bus driver was Hispanic or African American they would've arrested them, but since it was a white person he's perfectly fine , Like wtf!!!!?!!
