My best friend was in the accident and her sister and cousin passed and she was wounded very badly with a broken arm and many scars. Her pregnant mom was also in it and happily and thankfully she is okay as well her baby daughter. I thank the Lord so much that they are ok and I know the children that didn’t make it are in a better place

I fear I know one of the victims of that accident. One of the truckers. If Im right, I believe he worked for LCT transportation based in Okahumpka, Florida years ago. I droved for that company too. I found this out from a former co-worker. Hard to believe.

Semis are lane polluters. Damn rigs are always clogging up all 3 lanes on highways. Most of them blatantly cut off motorists and wonder why they're hated so much.
This is absolutely horrible. Five kids on their way to Disney World on a church trip. I bet Facebook is all lit up with prayers though, right? Furthermore, I am sure the survivors credit God for watching out for them. I guess he was fresh out of blessings for the kids though.

Ive seen some of the most horrific crashes on Florida highways especially on interstate 95 in the FT. Lauderdale area. The worst one I saw never made the news but they pulled fire trucks across and completely blocked 95 off for 2 hours while they cleared 20 flipped over and totaled cars off the road amazingly nobody was killed although several were seriously injured. Very wide highways with cars piled together. And a lot of people drive very dangerously in congested traffic which causes 99% of crashes like this.

Florida highways are dangerous. I don't know what they do with all their toll revenue but I know they DONT put it back into the highways. I recently took a trip to Miami and those Interstates and toll roads are treacherous. Uneven lanes, construction, traffic…very sad.
Heavenly father be with the families. I know these children are safe with you. This is so terrible.

We're from Gainesville & my mom was on the interstate when it happened, but was South of it. Apparently, it was b/t Alachua &39th Ave/Santa Fe State College. I took that route almost every morning for school, &once u pass 39th, there's not much to look at but trees.
