  1. Congress and Senate please don't write any legislation reforming police,because all of you live in a bubble and have no real life experience. Besides all of you are complicit in every police shooting case, police torture case, violation of citizens constitutional rights, etc. Do you not understand that it is the laws, over regulation and minor offenses that you impose on citizens with fines and you let armed tyrants collect them for you by any means necessary. Stop let real people who have real life experiences and not part of any branch of government lead and write the reform needed. Stop.

  14. It seems to me that there is a fatal dose of cognitive dissonance affecting every aspect of progressive philosophy. After a period where I listened then argued my brain finally saw the impossibility of changing any opinions. Cognitive dissonance, stubbornness, bias, pride. No matter how much proof, no change. Stubbornness. Example: the one who votes for Trump and is not bothered by those weird statements that are inappropriate. Example: I heard this first hand. After a lady was told about Bidens touching children and others in a creepy way, alleged sexual molestations,( yes more than one) the lady said," I don't care if he eats babies, I'm voting for Joe." My comments are Not meant to be political. I want to know why people vote for people they would never invite for dinner.

  20. It's not the police who need to be retrained, it's the public. We have grown into a mouthy, mobile phone wielding, vulgar, uncivil society with no personal responsibility and the attitude of 'it's the other person's fault', 'you owe me'. A society where children grow up with no boundaries or knowledge or concern for civil society and personal responsibility.

    When an officer says "Put your hands up," then put your hands up! Don't reach for something in your pocket, your lap, your seat. There's plenty of reason for a police officer to feel threatened, there have been multiple assaults and ambushes on police officers lately. Comply with requests from the officer, have your day in court. Don't mouth off, or fight, or refuse to comply… that escalates the situation.

    Police officers are our sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters. They're black, white, brown, all colours, all ethnicities, all faiths, male and female, they are us. They see the worst side of humanity… the raped children, the bloody mangled bodies of traffic victims, the bruised and battered victims of domestic violence, homicide victims, body parts… day after day.

    They work holidays while we have festive meals with our families. They miss school events with their kids, birthdays, anniversaries, all those special occasions that we take for granted. They work in all types of weather, under dangerous conditions, for relatively low pay.

    They have extensive training, but they are human. When there are numerous attacks on them, they become hyper vigilant for a reason, they have become targets. When a police officer encounters any person… any person, whether at a traffic stop, a street confrontation, an arrest, whatever… that situation has the potential to become life threatening. You, Mr & Mrs/Miss Civilian, also have the responsibility of keeping the situation from getting out of control.

    Many law enforcement officers are Veterans. They've been in service to this nation most of their lives, whether on the battlefield or protecting us here at home. They are the only thing that stands between us and anarchy in the streets.

    If you want to protect your child, teach them respect.

  23. How about introducing a Politician reform bill,,, one that allows Federal law enforcement the ability to charge and convict those in our government that commit crimes against this country.. That would eliminate half of the Democrats in Washington.

Right wing politicians already made police reform the left decided to decline it without even looking at it even though they were told that it would be amended to have practically anything they wanted.. they said no why? Because they want to push it themselves so they can get credit as the party that passed police reform even thought the right tackled it first written by a black republican who has dealt with police issues in the past.

There's two types of training for police!!! #1: (Classroom training,) rules & regulations, dept policies, case laws, constitutional rights, etc. Training#2: (street training) When the new recruit is being trained by the training officer who tells the rookie, "ALL THAT BS YOU LEARNED IN THE CLASSROOM WELL JUST FLUSH ALL THAT DOWN THE TOILET!!!) Then proceeds to retrain the rookie just like how he was trained years before by his training officer!!!! That's what going on currently with all these shooting!!!! Spending more money on training is a joke!!!!
