99.9% of all, who wear the "blue", are the epitome of the word hero. When there is a problem, they run toards the problem, while the vast majority run from the problem. The reason democrats want to defund local state and city police is so they can replace them with federal police who will support new left wing Democrat communist, tyrannical laws. Republican governor and State legislators are passing laws that they will not enforce Biden's unconstitutional orders. So, to enforce them State police need to be replaced by federal police. I predict the democrats next move will be to say we need to federalize all police so they can be held to a unified standard of operation.

Add 'defund the police' to the long list of failed progressive social experiments. The people of who call for 'defunding the police' don't live in these poor neighborhoods.
We have such a huge problem to tackle. Percentage wise I would guess we have the same amount of citizens armed that should be as police officers who shouldn't be. Those are the only ones we want to disarm. How do we accomplish this? We cannot simply continue to do nothing. And the American people have already proven they are willing to give up some rights for safety.
I mean I'm in favor of social workers in some situations like homeless people,, but what your gonna send social worker Sally to handle an armed robbery?
Honestly I'd just let them have their way and abolish the police for a year or two. I bet my left nut before that time is up they would be begging for some cops.

Between December of 2020 and March of this year, murder has risen 46% in the city. This brings a smile to my face.
