  1. On an interesting side note, Ivan Reitman also produced a little known David Cronenberg movie called "Shivers" (also know by the name "They Come From Within") back in 1975. A very underrated body horror gem. Rest in peace Ivan.

  2. I saw Ghostbusters, twice, at the cinema in 1984 (the year I left school). Ivan Reitman locked and loaded a masterpiece. I still remember the laughs from the audiences. I still remember the posters for Ghostbusters in my hometown of Birmingham, England, all those years ago. Thank you, Ivan, for sending those spirited spooks 'across the pond.'

  3. Unbelievable…. shell shocked! I'm glad he lived to see a third ghostbusters film done properly. My thoughts are with his family, hope Harold keeps him in good company.

  4. A great man and one of the few smart ones left in SCAMerica- a true libertarian. Now he can help Harold (Egon) assist McKenna (Phoebe) fight the ghosts from the other side.

  5. I was deeply saddened to hear about Ivan Reitman. "Stripes (1981)", "Ghostbusters (1984)" was one of the few films that made him the king of directors in addition to "Twins (1988)" and "Kindergarten Cop (1990)". I own much of his films. Him along with other late icons John Hughes (1950-2009) and Harold Ramis (1944-2014) all defined my childhood with their early works! I'm deeply saddened by Reitman's tragic death, he'd just produced "Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)" for his director son Jason Reitman. That film underperformed at the box office, but hey I'm glad he lived to see his last film as well as son Jason's success. THANKS FOR MAKIN' US LAUGH MR. IVAN REITMAN! YOU WILL BE SORELY MISSED.

  6. RIP Ivan! Such a cinema legend. I grew up watching his films, and can remember going to see Ghostbusters 2, Kindergarten Cop and Junior in the cinema and having a blast.

He had a real sense of fun and wonder and kindness about him, and it showed in his work. He knew how to inject true comedy, but could also create genuine thrills and suspense too.

One of the greats! I envision Ivan is playing chess with Harold Ramis in the afterlife now, while looking back on all of us as we continue to re-watch their classic films.
