Is it a mystery why this is happening!? It’s bc hospital administration backed by Dept of Health/CDC guidance are totally not following quarantine protocols for healthcare workers and threatening them if they talk about it! An N-95 mask is supposed to be disposed of after one use or it’s considered compromised, meanwhile they don’t have even one for everyone and those who do, have just one they’re reusing! Staff exposed to infected patients are not being tested unless they exhibit symptoms and are expected to keep working, even though it’s well known the infection is highly contagious even when asymptomatic- so infected staff are spreading it to other staff and patients. Medical professionals who talk about this even with their own administration are being threatened with retaliation- these threats are coming from the Chief Operating Officers who rake in millions in annual salary and dictate marching orders remotely from the comfort outside of patient wards without having to expose themselves to the risk of direct patient care, some actually having zero medical expertise. But even the ones who do are making business decisions to keep their facilities running with disregard for the lives and safety of the people within them. The faulty and deadly acceptance by administration that the disease is so prevalent it no longer merits proper infection control is going to get even more people killed. They have simply accepted a severe underestimate of losses that they have grossly miscalculated instead of prioritizing preventing/containing the loss. Even the distribution of safety gear was done too late- not necessarily bc a facility didn’t have the gear but administration hoarded it until the infection was widespread enough- this is the exact opposite of proper infection protocol that these administrators were advised of vehemently by their staff but ignored. People think the death of health care personnel and outbreaks in facilities like nursing homes around the country are purely a reflection of the virus itself but it’s not- the virus was helped along by business decisions that continue to amplify the damage exponentially. Someone please expose the truth. The workers know but they’re being threatened with their jobs to not tell the truth. They’re not getting infected at these alarming rates bc health care workers are simply exposed to viral loads as an unavoidable part of their jobs! It’s bc they’re being forced to work in the exact conditions which would contribute to them acquiring and spreading the infection. Treatment had traditionally been more lucrative than prevention in the business of healthcare but oops- not in a highly contagious viral pandemic when your workers are getting infected and dying.
