How did the Remdesivir Clinical trial begin 18 days before a pandemic was declared, three weeks before national emergency was declared and one day before the first US death on February 22nd?
A 50-plus site clinical trial didn't organize itself overnight. Dr F must've started setting this up about the same time he told us "no worse than the flu". Odd. This was one week after his NIH expert treatment panel said "nothing" for treatment April 21st in the official NIH COVOD-19 treatment guidelines. No treatment recommended for Covid-19 because nothing was proven. Then just like that, Remdesivir is the "new standard of care" before anything was ever printed or online. He had to announce that day. It was the day we reached 60,000 deaths. Even the study investigators were surprised. Kept us waiting one month (and 44,000 US deaths by then) just to say "nothing". We knew from day one that no studies exist for a brand new disease, the one situation in which evidence-based medicine methods are useless, except this one with the inexplicable big head start. One week after "nothing" guidelines, on the day US deaths pass 60,000, suddenly this drug wins the race? Seven Gilead-paid experts were on the NIH "expert treatment panel". Were they dragging to their feet taking a month to recommend nothing so Remdesivir could win the sweepstakes? Dr F changed the outcome measures along the way, no longer measuring mortality. It's an Adaptive Clinical Trial, new concept. Opening the placebo arm of the trial before all sites had even reported meant no placebo group, so this trial will never have the proof Dr F demands of other treatments to be or they are "unproven". The expert panel dragged their feet so Remdesivir would win the race. It's now the only FDA approved treatment, an IV drug that is $4,000 per dose with no statistically significant impact reducing mortality, only hospital days? Dr F saying "but there was a trend towards lower mortality" was the final capper. Plenty of weird moments in all this, but this makes the top of the list. Even clinical trial investigators were surprised by his announcement on the day we exceeded Dr F's 60,000 total deaths prediction from two weeks earlier. That reworking of the models he called a "glimmer of hope" two weeks earlier. Coincidence? This whole thing requires holding your nose.
Covid-18 is not
going to disappear even with a vaccine. If vulnerable people acquire Covid-19 an
early treatment to prevent a catastrophe is needed. When the lung circulation
is diminished by blood clotting a respirator may not be of much use. Early treatment
