These politicians can invite tenants to stay in their own personal homes – because it is exactly the same as letting a tenant stay in a landlord's property without payment! As a landlord – so glad this illegal power grab by the government is over! It's time for the government to pay up to the landlords! Also – rents are going waaaaay up because of this illegal and unreasonable moratorium. This program paying off back due rent is overly bureaucratic and is very very poorly designed and run. Landlords have paid taxes, insurance and all carrying costs since March 2020 and gotten nothing in return! Yet Congress wants to forgive student loans and hand out billions to people for doing absolutely nothing! This isn't right and will be corrected. Landlords are going to unite and sue the government for this illegal confiscation of private property!
