3 weeks open now, 100%, and we may have to shut down, because 6 classrooms are shut down and quarantining already. Students were not social distancing, giving high-fives, playing tag outside during recess, and teachers were not enforcing guidelines. I have been, in my classroom and outside, but I am not able to be with my students all day, and the duty teachers are not enforcing the guidelines either! I keep telling my students to stop hanging around other students in other classes, because I don't know if sanitizing is a priority. This is horrible that these students are getting sick. My classroom may be shut down next, because one of my students was in close contact with one of the students in the other classroom. Off campus, I was seeing kids hanging out without masks and hugging all over the place. SMH . I am not surprised Covid is spreading, but I am surprised at the lack of care. When I bring it up, other teachers just say, "I am tired of the virus". So am I!!! But Covid doesn't care if we are tired of it.
My school still has virtual/in person option for the rest of the year.
