Zooming in on how the brain works does in no way explain the specifics of this event. What she said addressed memory function in general. We know from experience that false memories happen, and those terms used say nothing about her condition at the time.
She really distracted from the topic with tricky words to impress those easily swayed, instead of addressing the question.
Blah blah blah blah…Why don't people try to develop some logic and reasoning skills? Then they could try to apply them to judge motive, opportunity, validity and importance to whatever claims are made about anything? Includes deciding not enough information to draw a conclusion.
I dont think norepinephrine in the brain and the hippocampus involves memory if I remember correctly. And epinephrine modulates memory processes but is not involved in memory retainment.

It sounds a little like the old "Thigh bone is connected to the hipbone […]" rhyme. She knows that attack victims often get key details wrong even when the crime is reported right away; I'm sure she's heard of the many overturned convictions since the rise of DNA testing in which the victim had positively identified the wrong person. What she said may be what happens when the memory is correct, but it doesn't prove that hers was, especially after 35 years of near total silence. If she had reported this when it happened, the innocent and the guilty could likely have been sorted out based on evidence that no longer exists. Her supporters are saying that "guilty until proven innocent" should be the new rule for these things.

I'm sure that Dr. Ford underwent a traumatic event. However, as a psychologist I am pretty certain that she is also familiar with the following information related to PTSD as it is pretty universally recognized:

"After a traumatic experience, intentional remembering (effortful retrieval) and unintentional remembering (intrusive mental imagery) can introduce new details that, over time, assimilate into a person’s memory for the event. We believe that understanding the role these factors play in distorting people’s memories for traumatic experiences is both theoretically and practically important, particularly given their potential role in influencing people’s recovery."
In short, this means that memories of traumatic events are often distorted, in particular "over time". Since there a lot of time involved, there is probably a lot of distortion as well. This has probably negatively influenced her recovery as well.

She doesn't have any discomfort when talking about this apparent incident, she's actually arrogant and cocky when talking about it. And yet she just claimed a week ago that she was so traumatized by it still that she couldnt fly in an airplane. What an obvious liar
