  4. You want me to believe a 20 yr old tough hockey player was raped by a video coach (not even a real coach) who has almost no influence over his career? 🤔🤔. Just say you watched porn and hooked up with another grown man and now you regret it. You won’t be the first on your team, trust me!

  5. He was an adult when this took place. It seems to me that he let this happen to better his career kind of like our Vice President and if the Blackhawks didn’t want to do anything why didn’t he go to the police ?

The Kyle Beach incident and persistent attempts by the Chicago Blackhawks to ignore the sexual assault and then discredit Beach's lawsuit illustrates how far behind the NHL is when compared to other professional sports. The collective NHL mindset is still trapped in the 1960's and 1970's, as evidenced by the harassment and homophobic comments Kyle Beach received in the locker room shortly thereafter from teammates in 2010.

  10. Reminds me of the 1994 movie DISCLOSURE with Demi Moire & Michael Douglas. It’s all about POWER in the hands of an abuser. A sexual assault victim has very little power & a great deal to lose. There must be justice for Kyle.

  12. I've been analysing the amount of media coverage. I've compared with the facebook pages of different media outlets. In the Chicago Tribune and WGN facebook pages, it was hardly mentioned, but a few reactions and comments. In the Sun Sentinel, 24 hours after Quenneville's resignation, there were zero comments and zero reactions. Nobody really seems to care about the Panthers in FL. Meanwhile in Canada, it's got tons of comments and reactions on facebook.

  15. This reminds me of penn state. Joe Paterno knew but did nothing. They still idolise him in happy valley even though he was partly responsible.

  16. This hurts as a Panthers fan, specially due to our recent success and the fact that FLA had absolutely nothing to do with it.. But the Panthers did the right move.

  22. This is just as bad as and similar to Weinstein using his influence to force actresses to be intimate because he could use his influence to make or break their careers.
    To the commentor who laid the blame on Beach. Till you've been in the same situation (i.e. walked in another's shoes you really need to be more empathetic as you have no idea what truly transpired.) It's easy for those who've never faced anything like this to blame the victim. The truth is no one really knows what they would do in a charged situation, so shouldn't judge or blame the victim.

  23. This is a very tough situation but I think Kyle should’ve exposed him as soon as that happened , I know 2010 was a different time but he could’ve recorded what was going on and exposed him to the media but it was his dream job so I kinda get it

  24. Both of them are just as guilty.
    The supposed "victim" easily could have walked out of the situation BEFORE it turned into a situation.
    Yet, he stayed at the coaches house and drank and did whatever they did TOGETHER.
    Now, 11 YEARS LATER it's a thing?
    IT'S ONLY a thing because the player became the PLAYED and HE HIMSELF knows he is JUST AS GUILTY.
    The pride of life and the pride of flesh comes with consequences of his own actions.
    He put himself there at the coaches house. He Himself drank with the coach.
    He Himself committed his own flesh to whatever happened between him and the coach.

  25. Long time die hard Blackhawks fan here. We idolized Joel Quenneville as the hero that lead us to not one, not two, but three cups. I read the full legal report by the law firm that conducted the investigation. Joel knew but he (according to other members of the coaching staff) was more concerned with how it would affect their run for the cup. He wasn’t worried about the safety and well-being of one of his players, he just wanted to look good. I’m disgusted. I feel betrayed as a fan. Good riddance Quenneville.
