The truth? Patriot Support is not a charity. Prosecutors say the group preyed on veterans and pushed them into mental health facilities just to collect the insurance money. And Herschel Walker made hundreds of thousands of dollars from the group. Prosecutors charged the group with defrauding the federal government, saying the group would “misdiagnose patients and falsify documents in order to hospitalize those who did not require it, according to court records.” They “aggressively pushed those with government-sponsored insurance into inpatient mental health care to drive revenue.”Patriot Support was “not a charity” and “has been charged by prosecutors of defrauding the federal government.”
According to the Associated Press, the group Herschel Walker boasts about was “a for-profit program that is alleged to have preyed upon veterans and service members while defrauding the federal government.”
