  9. As a Briton, Gabby Gifford is one of the Americans I admire the most. Her resilience and recovery from being shot in the head at very close range has been remarkable. I hope one day she will return to politics, because America desperately needs someone of her stature right now.
    At least America has a new President who is very experienced in politics who will act in the manner expected from someone holding the highest office in the country and a new Vice President who will act in the same manner (though the present Vice President Mike Pence I believe would have done the same, even if you disagree with his politics).

Did you know that Biden as vice-president helped fake the Sandy Hook 'school shooting' in Dec. 2012, as well as the Boston Marathon 'bombing' in April of 2013 ?He stood right there with that crooked POS Obama and faked tears over a fake shooting ! You don't get much more disgusting as a human being than to fake events like that in order to terrify people into changes of national policy. That's 'domestic terrorism', one should go to prison for life for acts of 'domestic terrorism', but 'filth' like Obama and Biden get away with it…So yeah, I say that bullet must have messed up her brain worse than most realize for her now to be endorsing lying POS like Biden.   20. I was just in Tucson. I visited a safeway on N Oracle rd, but then now I realize that safeway was the site of the 2011 tragedy. RIP to the victims of those who were murdered by Jared Lee Loughner in that Safeway Parking Lot.

    Gabby Giffords' survival, bravery and legacy continues. Her husband, Mark Kelly, Navy captain and astronaut is running for AZ senate.

  26. Seriously, what law could have kept this woman from being shot? Only one. The law saying citizens have the right to concealed carry.   29. Stanhope brought me here. This is incredible; no doubt about it. However, even if we implemented gun control, this will only create a black market. There is a video by underworld Inc that shows an illegal colt 1911 clone operation. These firearms are not machined; they are made with handmade parts. The only way to stop gun violence is to ban or restrict the sale of hard metals. Try imagining how that is possible because I can't. The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. Be safe out there folks.

  33. A very moving speech. However, no matter how many gun laws are passed criminals are the ones who benefit the most. Supporters of regulating firearms are really on the side of criminals and not trying to stop gun violence. Chicago (run by Democrats) being a prime example.

  39. Gifford's shooter didn't use an "assault weapon" and he passed the background check required to obtain the firearm he used.
    Tell me again how you propose to stop an extremely rare incident such as this from happening again?
