My guess is that the Trumpist faction of the GOP is not quite as high as 85%. I think there are many regular conservatives in the party who (secretly) reject fascism and lawlessness, but who are intimidated and/or opportunistic so they simply ride the fascist wave until it abates or until they retire from politics.
