I was a guard in Guantanamo Bay in 2010. I remember camp X Ray and camp iguana well. That place doesn't leave your memory. I was there when the earthquake in Haiti hit as well. We had a lot of refugees on leeward side outdoor in cwire camps. I remember driving through all the abandoned housing where they kept all the Cuban refugees that were migrating to Florida and the 1980s, abandoned basketball courts and all that. There's a lot of history there, there's even the first barracks at the northeast gate with a Marine Corps eagle globe and anchor facing Cuba to remind them that we are still there.
