  1. At 50, having horrible, socially disruptive and at times crippling bipolar disorder for 40 of the 50yrs…AND being able to get through life without crying about it, just goes to show the generational difference. I’m from a generation where no one was given participation awards, pats on the back and clapping hands for things that all kids should do anyway (cleaning rooms, doing homework, wiping your butt) or living a life through “likes” on social media and our parents actually said “No” or “You can do better if you try” or “it’s ok you didn’t win, just work harder next time”. People have seriously lost the plot. Everyone just HAS TO BE a special snowflake.
And the 20yr old kid on here who said she’s autistic (fun fact, most people with anxiety disorders, mood disorders are generally on the Autism/Asperger’s spectrum, though not enough to be considered actually Autistic) and they made her eat lunch in the basement…please stop lying. You know it’s not true, we all know it’s not true.
For those of us who are actually mentally ill, all of you/your whining little kids are just going through the adolescent experience. ALL adolescents go through anxiety and mood swings. It’s called hormones and discovering yourself as an individual. When people, parents and the media pander to this idea that there is no distinction between mental health and mental illness, all these teens start thinking they’re in some special club (that being the club of First World Problems) and it negates and takes away from those of us who actually struggle day to day.
    Please stop.

  2. I was In 6th grade when the pandemic began. It took a drain on my mental health. Online school was extremely stressful for me. I developed depression and anxiety. And being quarantined I began isolating myself in my room and at the time I didn’t know that doing this would make me sadder and more depressed. And now, I have depression and anxiety and it’s even worse at home(ptsd)

  3. Reading the comments, it’s clear that some of the adults here are having an even bigger crisis! 🤦🏻‍♀️
