How To Talk To Kids About The Capitol Siege | NBC Nightly News
Why are we only teaching our kids about the capital when they are living through their cities being burnt to the ground and their parents work getting looted. Your priorities are only one sided. Nothing in 2020 and 2021 has been ok for kids. Teach them love and compassion and keep violence out of their head. That is the ONLY WAY you can make anything better. Stop turning them against others for their beliefs.

What do I tell my kids about the destruction of their cities to a terrorist organization spurred on by hypocrites in government?
Children of this age should not be learning about the stuff yet. At the their age political problems, takeover or not should not be their concern. Not saying they shouldn’t because young and stupid. I’m saying they shouldn’t because they don’t deserve to be handling this. The last thing they need is to be put on social media and voicing opinions that they were told to voice by their own parents.
How are we supposed to teach our children right from wrong? Not even the president is held accountable. And 140 other lawmakers, four first children, two in laws, one First Lady, countless law enforcement officers, and hundreds of other people have blood on their hands.
One of the kids I babysit, she’s 10, started asking me about what happened-mostly about impeachment.
10: I heard they’re impeaching him
Me: Well, Ilhan Omar drafted the articles of impeachment while she was in lockdown
10: Articles?
Me: They can’t just call an impeachment vote
10: Nancy Pelosi said she would fire him
Me: She didn’t say that. She can’t fire him. She can impeach him. The senate would have to vote to convict and remove him.
10: What’s insurrection?
I decided it was way above my pay grade and old her to ask her parents or Google it.
Involving young kids in discussions of politics is child abuse.

I’m a retired teacher. I’m still shaking. I sent this to trump supportering teachers in Tennessee and they 😆 & said it was payback for BLM ✊🏾. I’ve taught everywhere, but Tennessee is 😞 It’s heartbreaking. I don’t even know how or want to participate in society anymore. 🤦♀️. 😞.
