The hurricane pummeled Puerto Rico, leaving four dead and thousands without power. It is now heading toward Bermuda and has potential to strengthen over the Atlantic.

  11. Hurricanes don't often hit Bermuda directly . It's a very small target to begin with . To see real hurricane destruction just look at my 33 year anniversary of Hugo in 89 . I well remember that Cat 4 landfall .
    No one at the Weather Channel ever talked with Camille survivors Paul Williams or Mary Ann Gerlach . I did on several occasions . They are the most famous storm survivors in history . Only Isaac Cline in Galveston has been written more .
    Don't listen to the weather channel my people if you acquire real storm figures. For many years you have been mislead by Cantore on Storm Stories. He always stated that Hallam Nebraska had the widest tornado on record at 2.5 miles wide in 2014 . Case in point was that NC had suffered a confirmed 2.5 mile wide monster in 1984 . Even after I reminded him of this fact he continued to air the Hallam storm only with no mention of the Carolinas Outbreak ever . The El Reno Oklahoma tornado reached 2.6 miles wide and put an end to Cantores endless spill about Hallam . My point here is don't believe everything you hear on the weather channel and the news . Look up the weather scientists such as Dr. Jeff Masters at Weatherunderground if you want accurate assessments .

This hurricane is going to miss Bermuda by about 100 miles but you must remember the weather channel has very little to talk about except cyclonic activity from mid Jul through mid October. in spite of massive building along the coast lines and in the islands over the last 75 years damage from hurricanes is down substantially. I lived on the coast in Florida for 10 years, every time we had a hurricane anywhere in the Gulf of Mexico or along the East Coast they grossly exaggerated its intensity and damage. there will be very little damage done in Bermuda but that won’t stop the weather channel, they have to sell ad time while they can
