47. Ok, so I came to this video ready to distinguish racism from prejudice and discrimination, but, apparently we need to differentiate religion from social science.
    If the method of how people come to conclusions is so deeply individual that they don't want schools teaching facts that may indirectly point to a political conclusion, that is like saying we shouldn't learn about the health risks of drinking polluted water. Because then you might get this wild idea that any corporations dumping toxic chemicals that affect water sources shouldn't do that, and should probably be legally barred from doing so.
    And suddenly it feels political because there are laws involved, and voting. Then people are all like, "well if the company does the logical thing for the environment and people's health, it's bad for their quarterly statement, and what about the economy?"
    It's almost as if some of these facts and lessons are selectively chosen as taboo because they involve a logical series that leads to a disadvantageous outcome for a privileged group. Hmm.. so if white people are complaining about how curriculum might somehow disadvantage them compared to their norm, how is that not racist in itself?
    Clearly if people of color already feel disadvantaged in society compared to white people and white people have no real argument for the reverse other than having to deal with that criticism… then isn't that a clear attempt at maintaining the status quo? I.e. racism by definition.
    To be clear, I think it's ironic that the critics of critical race theory chose this as a method of trying to prevent it because it's a good example of critical race theory. On the other hand, I guess that isn't ironic at all.
