Transphobic? That is just a way of silencing people who think differently. In the same way we could say that they are "heterophobes"… isn't it?. It is a way of dissuading criticism and avoiding a healthy and respectful debate using the scientific and medical evidence. They just don't want to listen and defend their point with solid arguments. They just say one word: Transphobic… and all possible debate is instantly finished. They only seek to disqualify and silence others…Looks like common sense and logic are never contemplated within their possibilities. It's that simple. I’m a bit confused by the comment from Lia that claims the decision will only serve to harm all women. I’m assuming she’s talking about herself as part of that “all women” and it’s harmful for her, yet putting biological women at a competitive disadvantage. Am I understanding this correctly? She may identify as a female, and good for her for pursuing that, but she can’t change biology. I can identify as a cat, but I will never be physically a cat.
Also, did she say she was doing her best times as a man but was unhappy? Probably because her best wasn’t good enough for the men’s category and better in the women’s category? I can’t say I feel bad for her because of this decision. In my opinion, she shouldn’t have been allowed to compete with women to begin with. With the new Open category, biological men will compete with biological women in transition? If so, Testosterone wins.
