Here’s a better idea: build houses and businesses 🏡 with stucco, concrete and elevated – not wood, paper and plastic and maybe the devastation wouldn’t be so severe? They literally build my house like a wooden cardboard that you could punch a hole in it. Every time a hurricane pass through I get roof leakage. We’re in hurricane alley. I could live without electricity but not with the pain of losing memories and mementos if not myself then not other people. It’s sad, really.
I give my right hand above not to ever go through a category five storm in my lifetime.
