5. '16 shots' is not the point.

   1 shot can kill or disable an assailant, even if he is not trying to assault you with a 3" knife while you have an automatic handgun weapon in your hands.

   If concerned the officer could have shot his hand or one of his legs to immobilize him. This would be traumatic enough but at least he would be alive and terribly disabled for life to consider his actions and the consequences of his addiction in regard to his consuming PCP.

   This option was not even considered as an option.

   He was shot dead.

   It becomes callous and inhumane.
