“Tactical weapons” is plural. Kyle had only one self defense weapon. At least one of his attackers had a firearm, and another used a skateboard as a weapon against Kyle as well.
Kyle owned body armor that was given to him by the local police department, but he loaned it to his friend that evening.
A journalist would get their facts more precise, or at least ensure that their guest can. And this is why I do not consider ABC a reliable source of information.
