This is a hard case. Officer should be held accountable. Daunte also shouldn’t have been driving in the first place which should also be taken into consideration. He also tried to run away which is bad. Both parties at fault here
The young man ran from the police sorry he got shot .But he rushed into the car he is also accountable . But it's amazing how the black guy was able to kill people at a parade but the coverage is silent. I felt really bad for the mom. You can't control your kids. She knew he was driving without plates and let him go anyway. She let him think it is ok to do what ever you want. Just follow the laws and you won't get hurt. This young man paid the price for his mother not telling him right from wrong. Not too hard to understand unless your bad attitude toward the law is supported by your mother. Nobody in their right mind would want to be a police officer.

In that conversation that families have to have with there kids unfortunately, I KNOW, they said dont try to run, dont resist, and own up to your decisions before you take a car and destroy it running from the police to nowhere, because you cant run from the police. Unfortunately, all families have to have that conversation.
if i am under stress adrenaline and i accidently kill someone I'm still guilty of murder. just because you a police officer doesn't excuse this. It actually makes your argument for feigning ignorance weaker. ive walked this planet for along time and have had to use deadly weapons to defend myself…you know what..during all that time i never mistook which weapon was where on my body because it was muscle memory it was engraved in my brain from training with them regularly and carrying them for years just like it was in hers…she knew full well she pulled the lethal out. our lives are not as worthless as allowing this, our lives matter as much as those barn animals screaming for officer safety while pointing a loaded gun at your head… this will not be acceptable ever.

All Daunte had to do was just comply! The guy was literally fleeing the scene because he didn’t want to go to jail. If you don’t want to die from a fire….then don’t run into the building that’s on fire! It’s literally that simple!

It was a lawful arrest, he resisted, he placed the life of another officer in jeopardy, zero sympathy.
There was no reason to draw any weapon. Nobody was at risk.
She will get 10-15 years in Prison. 5-7 years served on good behaviour and she'll be out.
The cop should have known the difference between a taser and a gun. It was a mistake but she still have to take responsibility for the death of that young man. Stupid games, stupid prizes
