Watching John Lewis's funeral made me cry. I had the honor of meeting him in the late 70's. I think he was on the Atlanta City council. Meeting him made a lifelong impression on me, that he was so kind to me, a nobody. He genuinely wanted to be of service to people. A few days ago on a video, I heard one of his friends say that going with John Lewis on a 10 minute trip took 4 hours, because he stopped to shake hands and say hello to everyone he met. That made me laugh out loud! I totally believe that! I think he genuinely liked people, and he was one of the only politicians in the last 40 years, that I never heard about any scandal or corruption. I think that he always knew that he had walked with giants, and had a high standard to live up to. He certainly did live up to that high standard. R.I.P. John Lewis
