1. "The unborn" are a convenient group of people to advocate for. They never make demands of you; they are morally uncomplicated, unlike orphans, they don't need money, education, or childcare; they allow you to feel good about yourself without any work at creating or maintaining relationships; and when they are born, you can forget about them, because they cease to be unborn. It's almost as if, by being born, they have died to you. You can love the unborn and advocate for them without substantially challenging your own wealth, power, or privilege, without re-imagining social structures, apologizing, or making reparations to anyone. They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe.

2. Perhaps we should have a long licensing process and a background check for an abortion. Say 10 month process… For public safety. We wouldn't want a single child to be killed accidentally because someone was mentally disturbed or just not thinking straight. We would of course have to create forms and require lots of personal information, including references. Be careful not to make any mistakes on the form.. LOL

Every Nation in the world that has healthcare as a Right has it written into their National Constitutions, so until the appropriate steps are taken to amend the U.S. Constitution this is a State Right to decide. Nothing stops people from petitioning their State Representatives to add healthcare into their State Constitutions so maybe people should start there and work the process set forth by the Founding Fathers. You think that people who profess to be the defenders of American Democracy would understand how the process works?
