Be with the angels sweet Samuel. I hope for strength and comfort for your family. I take the stairs every time unless the staircase door is locked. I understand some people cannot go up the stairs, but if you are healthy and able I do recommend you use the stairs when possible.

Companies should build full glass elevators to avoid claustrophobia and there should be a device inside to break in case of emergency.
It couldn't have dropped down.Elevators cannot do that.It would rather go up because of the counter weight.The brakes most likely failed.The only way for the elevator to go down with its doors open is when the safety was offline or broken.But that wouldn't mean that it dropped.They need to get their facts right

Those elevators need to shut down until it's worked on. The other elevator has cones in front of it so obviously these elevators malfunction. Now it tragically killed someone. Condolences to his family
