  1. 1million miles is only worth around 10-15k USD even without points that is a STEAL!!! To fly 30+ people and provide hotel rooms in Honolulu is an insane deal!

  3. Yeah, but they all had to fly Southwest, which means a long, long flight in a squished Coach seat. If you're going to go to Hawaii from anywhere but the US West Coast (3-5 hour flight), then pony up for First Class. I was stationed in Hawaii and unless you can fit COMFORTABLY in Coach, that is a long, cramped flight. It was nine nonstop hours in the butt-end of an L-1011 (Atlanta to Honolulu) when I went out to report to my new duty station.

  5. We just did Maui for 15 nights in July, but only a family of 4. Marriot, United, Enterprise ALL free using various points from Credit Cards. Last year six weeks in Europe. Still, plenty left for next year and growing.

In this day and age of malfunctions and terrorists and Americans targeted around the world with hatred…. putting the 'entire' family on one plane risked a disaster of epic proportion! This should never have been allowed by the airline, even if its not criminal, its monumentally STUPID! I see all the positive, warm and fuzzy Comments here, but truly…THINK ABOUT IT! And if you'e honest, every single one of you would be thinking the same as I had that nightmare actually happened. That it didn't, is a give from God, and nothing less! This may be the very worst breech of intelligent judgment I've ever heard of! I hope I never hear of it again! AIRLINES, PLEASE MAKE A RULE THAT PROHIBITS 'FAMILY SUICIDE BY HOLIDAY!' : (

  33. As much as i like this story, i'm wondering how he got everyone to call off from work, school, college and other important stuff. Most families when they plan for a trip, theres always scheduling conflicts. I wonder how he did it….

    But he cheated on my grandma and left us. He still stays in her house every once in a while, but most of the time he spents is in Mexico probably drinking.
