  1. There are 33 million acres of forest in California…..40% of that is privately owned. 57% is Federally owned. 3% is State owned.
Should California firefighters just work on their 3%?

  2. good job on finding the uncle. poor guy is as crisp as a bag of pork rinds . there’s toddlers on here complaining about this and that lol guys at least they found him! what the heck is the sheriff office doing? watching the flames go down? these people found a body within hours and he’s been there for who knows how many days. people only seem to jump on the bandwagon when someone starts stuff. the sheriff office is mad because they actually have to do work now. oh man they found a body. dang it. we have to work now. people need to realize the good and not just what people who try to deflect what is actually happening here. if there was nothing to hide then why freak out.

  3. Trapping The native Beaver population to EXTINCTION is The root cause of the western Drought** Reintroduce Beavers to western streams will restore the natural balance of weather** Beavers may be obtained in Canada***

  4. Newsom pushing biggest dam removal project in the history of humans.

Four hydroelectric dams on Klamath River (Iron Gate, Copco1, Copco 2 and Boyle) will be destroyed. Three reservoirs are holding 45 billion gallons of fresh water will be gone forever.

Destruction of California’s Klamath River Water Storage and Clean Green Renewable Hydro power by urging dam removal during major drought, eliminating fire suppression in a catastrophic wildfire area, bypassing American citizens right to due process by violating the Klamath Basin Compact, ignoring NEPA and trying to rush through Klamath Dam Destruction without considering the health and welfare of MAN and the environment, ignoring the County of Siskiyou and the will of its People.

  5. Blatant disregard for the California Penal Code, shame on ABC News and Disney General Entertainment Content. I'm sure Matt Gutman didn't know any better, but his colleagues and supervisors should be reprimanded to the fullest extent.

  6. As a citizen of Siskiyou County, I concur what @kaciebear said, and I would include, ABC NEWs! Shame on all of you!!!

"You should be ashamed of yourself sir! Where is your apology to the residents, fire personnel, and general community for you being on private property of a resident and reporting a death before authorized or reported as well as escorting a civilian in illegally? Absolutely over stepping your boundaries as MEDIA. Sick. I am so proud of the siskiyou county sheriff department calling out your deplorable behavior for clout"

  10. Thank you for reporting on the fire. It helps the public to understand to extent of the damage and how much help people will need to recover.

  11. This video and the completely inappropriate, unprofessional behavior of the journalist has permanently damaged media access within wildfire perimeters.

100% ID check of all occupants of media vehicles will be the new normal and anyone without proper press credentials will not be permitted past checkpoints.

News personnel can now expect to be stopped and challenged and required to show press credentials on all law enforcement contacts both within and outside emergency zones.

There is now discussion of whether media will be permitted any access to private property in the absence of proof of permission from the owner or resident.

Media policies that were previously liberal in allowing emergency services personnel to discuss their role are likely to be tightened to a "We are busy, please talk to a designated PIO at the incident base, goodbye now."

ABC News, the new media champions of f__ around and find out. This comment is a personal opinion.

  12. You sir, are the biggest piece of excrement ever. What on earth makes you think it is ok to go into an area that has been closed off by police and put on live TV the area of someone's death and remains??? You have WAY overstepped your boundaries and I hope that the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Department prosecutes you. All this for ratings? You're quite a POS.

  13. Shame on you ABC News. You know better than using your press pass to break the law!! You are not allowed to take citizens in. You are not allowed to go through burned out homes before the 1st Responders do. I'm so disgusted by what your reporter & crew did.

  14. I lost alot of respect for ABC News and this reporter.
Actions of the media were deplorable.
I truly hope the DA will file some sort of charges.

  15. You disgusting pieces of garbage! Have you no sense of descency? The story is all that matters right? Say hi to the devil when you die.

  16. Timber sawed down should be gathered in long stripped areas. These areas should be wide enough so they can help stop forest fires from spreading and it would leave firefighters room enough to enter the stripped areas to fight the fires more easily. For the most part, timber should be cut down in the mountains that are closer to towns. I know that this would look strange but it could be very helpful to save people's homes and lives. It's like having a strategic war against forest fires. Most timber is selected individually to be cut down. That is ok as long as they cut the stripped areas out as well to prevent the spread of fires. When will they ever learn??

  17. I was listening to the scanner. I don't know who started it, but they had to request extra back-up from the Sheriff's office because of unruly transients.

  18. You should be ashamed of yourself sir! 19. MATT took an unauthorized person beyond the fire line… ILLEGAL!!!!!! Just to get your name in the fame… shame on you Matt… you should review the sherriff posting of this action…

  20. Is this the film crew referred to as "the MEDIA" in a Siskiyou County Sheriff Department news release posted on Facebook about them being inside the evacuation zone without authorization? The report stated the area where two deceased bodies were found in a vehicle is considered a crime scene.

  21. You guys managed to righteously BREAK THE FUCKING LAW by entering a CRIME SCENE with a possible deceased person ON SITE. I'm encouraging the Sheriff of Siskiyou County, Sheriff LaRue to ARREST THE JOURNALIST WHO DID THIS. It is also ILLEGAL to bring a resident or anyone else back into the CRIME SCENE or ACTIVE FIRE ZONE. Goddam ABC, you're over the top STUPID,.

  22. Does California do any control burns to clear out underbrush. Seems like it’s something most other states do to control forest fires.
