23. This war is the never ending story. It’s nearly impossible to “win” a war where insurgents look like civilians & live among them. You don’t know who the bad guy is until a weapon is drawn.
    They get rid of a taliban and a few years later the talibans kids want revenge.
    During the time the US was protecting the country the people should have prepared themselves to raise up against the Taliban. I probably don’t understand this situation very well.
    I do feel extremely sad for what these poor people are going through especially the women & children it is a terrible situation to be in. As Americans we are very blessed & fortunate to live in this beautiful nation. I feel as a human race we can’t turn a blind eye to the suffering of these people.

24. Every administration knew, because a pull-out was inevitable! This inevitable pullout was talked about and planned for years now, as pointed out in the comments. Twenty years of trying were not enough and fifty would not have been enough but would have resulted in thousands more American soldiers dead or crippled.

    Watch Crux’s youtube program about Afghanistan’s “ghost” soldiers, which is about how people signed up as fake soldiers to collect salaries who were never actually soldiers. Search “corruption” and “Afghan government,” which is kind of redundant, since saying Afghan government is like saying corrupt government.

    Too many now foolishly forget how US casualties were rising dramatically in
    2019 and would have spiked if the US-Taliban agreement signed by Trump

    Nevertheless, President Biden correctly recognized that it was either US
    soldiers dying and getting crippled forever in Afghanistan or a
    pullout, which was planned and announced months ago after it was delayed
    for months.

    The idea that the US pulled the rug out from under the Afghan army is a bunch of BALONEY. The Afghan army had more men and much better arms even if the US had not continued its air strikes to help them. Moreover, the US DID continue air strikes against the Taliban as did the Afghan air force!

    There might be a positive: if the CCP continues its genocides against
    Muslims, the fanatical Taliban may eventually start supporting an
    insurgency in China. Right now, the commentators are just trying to
    appear intelligent, which they are not, and the politicians are trying
    to engage in political posturing by criticizing President Biden's well
    considered decision to gain support.

    Thank god that President Biden had the wisdom to clearly identify a no-win situation for the US and the courage to just pull out our troops (after careful delays for months, admittedly) instead of just sending more and more young Americans to die or be crippled in a hopeless war. It is easy for the yellow GOP, whose colors should not be red but like their underwear, yellow and brown, to criticize President Biden's election not to send more young Americans to die or be crippled in Afghanistan.

    (Long ago, if I remember right, it was Morley Safer of 60 minutes who interviewed Young Republicans and asked if any of them were going to go fight in Iraq/Afghanistan; every one of the yellow Republicans claimed to have health problems, which now would doubtless be supposed "bone spurs" like their yellow-orange-colored, blubber ball fuhrer.)
